xCruzo Brief
European stocks edged lower on Friday ahead of a closely watched U.S. jobs report, with investors also reacting to firmer oil prices. The pan-European STOXX 600 slipped 0.1% to 648.67 by 0710 GMT, while Germany’s DAX rose 0.1% and the CAC 40 in France fell 0.2%. London’s FTSE dipped 0.1%. Volkswagen shares jumped 6% after its supervisory board agreed a major turnaround plan that includes 50,000 job cuts and averted an escalation with unions and Lower Saxony. Higher oil prices, pushing Brent toward $96, weighed on autos-related and banking sectors.
