Forget Bitcoin Bottom: Analyst Says These Altcoins Could Move First
An analyst argues that some altcoins may start moving before traders expect a Bitcoin “bottom,” pointing to Hyperliquid (HYPE), Lighter (LIT) and Zcash (ZEC). The thesis, shared via a video by Taiki Maeda on July 15 and expanded by crypto trader Axel Bitblaze on July 16, says markets often move before the crowd agrees that a bottom has formed, suggesting positioning for mid-to-late Q3 rather than waiting for a “safe” setup in Q4. Bitblaze cited HYPE buybacks of about 3.4% of circulating supply this year and said LIT has removed more than 6% through buybacks, alongside a reported Robinhood partnership. For ZEC, Maeda said he sold after a vulnerability risk related to the Orchard shielded pool, then bought back, with the Ironwood upgrade set for July 28. ZEC’s price was discussed around $500, with a model range of $650–$700 if its ratio to Bitcoin market cap returns toward 1%.
