FTSE 100 Rises For The Sixth Day

The FTSE 100 on the London Stock Exchange extended its winning streak to a sixth session, rising after markets digested a less-than-feared disruption tied to wider U.S. sanctions on Iran. The index, which closed Monday at 10,854.32, traded in a range of 10,886.05 to 10,854.22 on Thursday. It was last quoted at 10,863.24, up 0.08% from the previous close. Over the past year, the FTSE 100 is up more than 16%. In Thursday’s move, 38 of the 100 companies were in the red overnight. Melrose Industries gained nearly 10%, while Rolls-Royce Holdings and Polar Capital Technology Trust, along with International Consolidated Airlines Group, rose more than 2.5%. RELX fell more than 3% and Diageo declined close to 2%.
