Gasperini returns early from holiday, meets with D'Amico
Gian Piero Gasperini returned early from vacation to start what Roma described as a decisive stretch for the Giallorossi transfer market. The coach is scheduled to meet sporting director Tony D’Amico at Trigoria today, with plans to handle remaining issues within a few days, including renewals, the case of Greenwood, departures, and the first signings. A July 13 meeting is also approaching, and Roma is considering whether to hold another direct discussion with the Friedkins in the coming days. Negotiations for Marseille striker Greenwood remain the main focus. Roma’s initial framework, based on €40 million plus bonuses, may require an increase of at least €5 million, along with bonuses and a percentage of the player’s future resale value. Marseille, under UEFA scrutiny for breaching financial restrictions, is willing to sell only on its terms, while D’Amico aims to close remaining gaps amid a strong owners’ relationship.
