Heather Donahue not involved in Blair Witch Project reboot

Heather Donahue, now going by Rei Hance, will not participate in the Blair Witch Project reboot. The 51-year-old star confirmed on Facebook that she won’t join co-stars Josua Leonard and Michael C. Williams, who are executive producers on Dylan Clark’s new project with the original directing trio. Donahue cited long‑term questions about rights, identity and voice use, and compensation. She noted concerns about future technology and autonomy. The reboot was unveiled at CinemaCon in 2024, with Lionsgate producing as James Wan encouraged involvement from original participants, though Donahue has opted out.
