Crunchyroll will stream the anime adaptation of Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You, expanding on the manga’s secret-smoking premise. The English release of the manga has been underway since 2024, and the adaptation was announced in July 2025, with a planned debut in July 2026. Crunchyroll acquired streaming rights for North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India. Tadato Suzuki directs the series, with Aoi Mori, Mio Inoue handling scripts, and character design by Yasuka Otaki; Asahi Production is producing the animation. The broadcast version is set for a July 9, 2026 premiere, after early “minisodes” used for initial streaming.
