Honeywell expands European defense navigation business with Civitanavi systems

Honeywell Aerospace says it is expanding its European defense navigation business, driven by growing demand for inertial navigation that can keep working when satellite signals are unavailable or jammed. Much of the growth is tied to Civitanavi Systems, the Italian navigation company Honeywell acquired in 2024. Honeywell says Civitanavi’s inertial products are now supporting programs in Ukraine, Poland, Italy, and the United Kingdom, among others. The company says Civitanavi designs and manufactures its navigation equipment entirely within the European Union. Honeywell highlights the ARGO 4000 inertial measurement unit, which European manufacturers are integrating into missile programs, unmanned platforms, maritime vessels, and ground vehicles.
