Hong Kong is a hot spot for Canadian travellers in August: Skyscanner trending travel destination
Canadians are turning to Hong Kong for August getaways, with Skyscanner data showing a 38% year-over-year increase in flight bookings from Canadian cities. The travel-planning firm linked the growth to travelers seeking trips that blend relaxation, nature and distinctive experiences. Skyscanner’s Laura Lindsay highlighted Hong Kong’s outdoor options—mountain escapes, hiking trails, coastal landscapes, beaches and island outings—alongside neighborhood sightseeing in areas like Central and Tsim Sha Tsui. The destination also draws interest for Cantonese food, including dim sum, seafood, busy markets and Michelin-starred restaurants. Flight searches indicate round trips can start from $1,724 Toronto–Hong Kong, $1,182 from Vancouver, and $1,773 from Montreal.
