House of former F1 boss who signed Ayrton Senna on sale for £2.25m

A Suffolk country house with deep Formula One ties is up for sale for £2.25 million. Abilene Lodge, in Gedding near Bury St Edmunds, was previously owned by Ted Toleman, the businessman behind Toleman Motorsport, a team that raced in the 1980s and gave Ayrton Senna his Formula One debut in 1984. Senna later became a three-time world champion. Toleman lived at Abilene Lodge from the 1960s until the early 1990s before moving to South Africa and later the Philippines, where he died on April 10, 2024. The property sits on about 15 acres, influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, and features an indoor pool, tennis court, helipad, and two garage blocks linked to the original racing base.
