How Elastic Stock Bounced 48.3% Higher Last Month
Elastic (NYSE: ESTC) surged 48.3% in August 2026, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence, driven by two separate waves of buying. The first jump began Aug. 13, as software-as-a-service (SaaS) shares broadly rallied. Cooler-than-expected inflation data revived expectations for rate cuts, and a rumor that private equity firms wanted to acquire Workday (NASDAQ: WDAY) boosted the deal speculation—Workday shares rose 17.8% on the news and many SaaS names gained 10% or more. Elastic then moved again after reporting Q1 2027 results on Aug. 27. Revenue rose 15% to $478 million, and earnings climbed 17% to $0.70 per share, beating consensus $470 million and $0.58. Large-contract results hit records, with 37% of big clients using Elastic’s premium AI features.
