How Much New Money Does Bitcoin Need to Start a Fresh Bull Run? (It's a Lot)
Bitcoin might still be able to enter another major bull cycle, but the capital needed to fuel a rally has risen sharply as the asset has matured, according to CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju. In 2011, Ju said about $2.7 billion in net capital inflows was enough to drive a rally of more than 55,000%. In the current cycle, roughly $697 billion in inflows produced a return slightly under 700%. He also cited that net inflows required to double BTC price jumped from around $5 million to about $101 billion. Ju argued that the next parabolic run may require trillions in net inflows and depends on Bitcoin absorbing over $1 trillion in realized capitalization. He compared the opportunity with gold’s estimated $29 trillion market value versus Bitcoin’s $1.25 trillion at the time of writing.
