Japan stocks lower at close of trade; Nikkei 225 down 0.87% By Investing.com
Japan stocks ended lower on Friday, with weakness concentrated in the Paper & Pulp, Transport and Communication sectors. The Nikkei 225 fell 0.87% at the close in Tokyo. Among the session’s winners, Resonac Holdings rose 8.71% (1,385.00 points) to 17,280.00, Furukawa Electric gained 7.68% (316.00 points) to 4,429.00, and BayCurrent Inc climbed 6.15% (469.00 points) to 8,096.00. The biggest decliners included SoftBank Group, down 5.83% (391.00 points) to 6,310.00, Nissan Motor which fell 4.97% (14.70 points) to 281.00, and Terumo, down 4.59% (108.00 points) to 2,243.50. Declining shares outnumbered advancers by 2,763 to 759, with 207 unchanged. Market volatility rose, with Nikkei Volatility up 4.99% to 22.92. In commodities, November crude dropped 1.36% to $91.61; Brent for December fell to $101.31. USD/JPY slipped to 157.87.
