Justin Baldoni's team claim victory in Blake Lively case

Justin Baldoni’s team is claiming victory in the Blake Lively case, following a court ruling that limited damages and left only legal costs recoverable. The dispute began in December 2024 when Lively accused Baldoni, who directed the film adaptation of It Ends with Us, of sexual harassment and coordinating a smear campaign, prompting countersuits from Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds. A judge, Lewis Liman, ruled on Friday that Blake could recover only attorney fees under California law, not damages. Lively had sought more than $300 million and ten of thirteen claims were dismissed; the matter settled before the New York trial. Baldoni’s attorney proclaimed victory.
