L'Rain announces tour, shares "borderline" video ft Arooj Aftab & more

L’Rain will release her new album, fata morgana, next month, and has shared a second single titled “borderline.” The track features electronic percussion with swirling, ethereal metallic guitar textures around Taja Cheek’s melodic vocals, building toward a louder, rock-leaning, dance-floor feel before pulling back. The accompanying video for “borderline” was directed by Mackai Sharp and includes appearances by Arooj Aftab, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Tasha, Rena Anakwe, and E. Jane. fata morgana arrives August 14. L’Rain also announced a fall tour starting September 14 at Tubby’s in Kingston, New York, with two dates at NYC’s Night Club 101 on September 28 and 29. The itinerary includes stops in Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Washington, Philadelphia, and additional U.S. dates extending into December, including San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, and other markets listed in the announcement.
