Landmark Conwy manor which was King Edward VII's retreat goes on the market
Gwern Borter Manor, a Conwy estate in Rowen at the edge of Eryri, has gone on the market for more than a million pounds. Built in 1840 and set within over an acre of landscaped gardens, the property is described as one of North Wales’ “finest lifestyle properties,” combining heritage and modern luxury. A key selling point is its royal link: it was used as a hunting retreat by King Edward VII, eldest son of Queen Victoria, who reigned from 1901 to 1910. The manor features three substantial reception rooms, a country-style kitchen, and nine bedrooms with seven bathrooms, including a principal suite with a copper freestanding bath in a stained-glass bay. Recent bathroom upgrades are also highlighted, with marble-effect finishes and designer fittings.
