xCruzo Brief
European stocks closed higher on Monday as oil prices slipped on optimism around progress in stalled US-Iran peace talks. In London, the FTSE 100 rose 0.8% to 10,739.01, while the FTSE 250 gained 1.2% to 24,491.37. Other UK venues also moved up, including the Cboe UK 100 and Cboe UK 250, as the AIM all-share edged down. Brent crude was quoted at $100.28 per barrel, down from $104.37 late Friday, after Donald Trump signaled he would “probably” be open to meeting Iran’s Masoud Pezeshkian at the UN General Assembly. In the US, the S&P 500 added 1.0% and the Nasdaq rose 1.6%, helped by Scott Bessent’s “very successful” trade and AI talks with China.
