Man stabbed on SEPTA bus in West Philadelphia, authorites say
A stabbing occurred on a SEPTA bus in West Philadelphia early Monday morning, according to authorities. Police said the incident began around 2:44 a.m. when two men boarded the L1 Owl bus at 15th and Market streets and started fighting. The bus driver flagged down a nearby Philadelphia police officer for help. After an unsuccessful attempt to separate the men, the officer used a Taser on a 39-year-old man who was not identified by police, and the officer later found that the man had been stabbed while taking him into custody. He was taken to Jefferson Hospital and remained in stable condition late Monday morning. Investigators are looking for a second person involved in the fight who fled, and police recovered a knife. Authorities gave no motive; the case remains under investigation.
