Meanwhile raises more funds
Meanwhile, a Bermuda-based life insurer operating completely on Bitcoin, announced $37.5 million in new funding from existing investors, following increased international demand for its Bitcoin life insurance policies amid broader macro instability. The round brings total funding to more than $180 million, with Bain Capital Crypto leading and participation from Haun Ventures, Framework Ventures, Pantera Capital, Apollo, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, and Morgan Creek Digital. The company said demand is strongest in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Meanwhile’s co-founder and CEO Zac Townsend said brokers approached the firm as clients asked for a regulated way to pass Bitcoin to the next generation. In early 2026, it launched BTC Life 1-Pay for high-net-worth clients outside the U.S., and earlier had BTC 10-Pay for U.S. taxpayers.
