Mexico's economy grows 1.4% in Q2 from previous quarter

Mexico’s economy expanded 1.4% in the second quarter compared with the previous three-month period, INEGI reported Monday. The result marked a rebound after a revised 0.3% contraction in Q1. Growth was broad-based across all three sectors tracked by the national statistics agency, with primary activities—covering farming, fishing, and mining—leading at a 2.4% increase. Still, the quarterly pace was slightly below INEGI’s preliminary estimate of 1.5% released last month. On a year-over-year basis, Mexico’s economy grew 2.1% in Q2, Latin America’s second-largest economy said.
