Morgan Rogers shares how England plans to deal with Norway's Erling Haaland in quarter-finals of World Cup
Morgan Rogers, de Aston Villa, shared England’s approach to facing Norway’s Erling Haaland in the World Cup quarter-finals. The Three Lions play Norway on Saturday at 10pm in Miami for a spot in the last four. Rogers said England intend to neutralize Haaland through defensive organization, pointing to Villa teammate Ezri Konsa as the key figure to marshal the centre-forward. He described Konsa as dominant in aerial duels, strong in tackles, and effective in possession, while adding that stopping Haaland requires a “whole team effort” to disrupt his runs and supply line. Rogers also cited Konsa’s record versus Haaland, noting Villa won four of their last six meetings against Manchester City without the striker scoring. England reached the quarter-finals after beating Mexico at Estadio Azteca with two goals from Jude Bellingham and a penalty by Harry Kane, and they could meet either Argentina or Switzerland in the semi-finals on July 15 if they advance.
