New bakery opens with cakes, cookies, pies and grab-and-go treats

A new bakery opens in Marion with cakes, cookies, pies and grab-and-go treats, expanding the local food scene. Marion Bake Shoppe opened for business on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 4071 North Main St. in Marion, Wayne County. The grab-and-go bakery sells cakes, pies, cookies, muffins, biscotti and more, and offers custom cookie cakes for special occasions. The business is owned by Kristen Palmer, described as a third-generation owner; her father and grandfather ran Marion Service Center for more than 60 years. The bakery is in the same building where Tim’s Auto Body previously operated, a business owned by her uncle for 30 years. Hours are 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with promotions shared via the bakery’s Facebook and Instagram.
