People on DWP basic state pension being handed bumper £1,480 in June

Britain’s basic state pension is set to rise by 4.8% in June to £184.90 per week for those who reached state pension age from April 2016, equating to about £1,480 per month for the typical pensioner. For those paid on Mondays, June will feature two payments due to five Mondays in the month. The Additional State Pension, S2P, and Serps are also rising by 3.8% to reflect inflation, with the 80-plus group receiving a higher, category D supplement of £110.77 weekly. Inheritances of state pension from spouse or civil partner rise by 3.8%, while pre-2016 entitlements remain at their previous scales, and the Department for Work and Pensions notes that some recipients may receive a larger or smaller payout depending on when they reached pension age and their National Insurance contributions history.
