Source of community pride': Art Mart owners honored as Entrepreneurs of the Year

Art Mart’s owners in Champaign have been recognized as the 2026 Entrepreneurs of the Year by the Parkland College Foundation. Linda Davis Ballard began as a clerk in 1962 and became co-owner in 1964, a role she still holds with her daughter Courtney McKay. The business now includes a cafe, deli, bakery, wine department, and a showroom for toys, clothing, and home goods. Local leader Jayne DeLuce calls it a community-pride destination. The award banquet will be held at the I Hotel and Conference Center, supporting scholarships for Parkland’s entrepreneurial network. Art Mart is believed to be the oldest female-owned business in the county.
