Orioles win 3rd straight, 6-1 over Angels, behind gem, unlikely hero
The Baltimore Orioles extended their winning streak to three games with a 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels, following two straight wins over baseball’s best team. Playing at Anaheim, California, on Monday, Baltimore delivered another lopsided performance built on offense, including double-digit hits for the second straight game. The Orioles jumped to a 4-0 lead early when Taylor Ward and Coby Mayo homered in the first four innings. Starting pitcher Kyle Bradish struck out nine over eight scoreless innings, his best start since undergoing Tommy John surgery nearly two years earlier. In the third inning, Leody Taveras made a notable defensive play at third base after manager Craig Albernaz moved him there following Blaze Alexander’s knee injury, marking the first time in Taveras’ 11-year pro career at the position. The single run allowed came on the first pitch of the ninth from reliever Rico Garcia, who gave up a home run to Jorge Soler. Baltimore improved to 38-42.
