Over 4 million tubes of toothpaste, many marketed for kids, are recalled
The FDA announced a nationwide recall affecting more than 4 million tubes of toothpaste, including products marketed for children. Most of the recalled items are sold under the Brush Buddies brand, with flavors and character lineups such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, and My Little Pony. The recalls—17 total—were initiated voluntarily on Sept. 10 by Pritam International Private Limited. No specific root cause was provided; the FDA said the products deviate from “Current Good Manufacturing Practices.” On Oct. 19, the agency classified the recalls as Class II, indicating exposure “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” with serious outcomes considered unlikely. Additional products include evo whitening/sensitivity toothpastes and ARU gum health and cavity protection toothpastes.
