Places This Week: Quaker Steak & Lube property hits market
Quaker Steak & Lube property hits market after the restaurant’s closure notice, according to a weekly roundup of notable Pinellas County real estate news. The Quaker Steak & Lube location in Pinellas Park announced it would close after 23 years on July 5, and the site has now entered the market with an undisclosed asking price. The freestanding building, built in 2003, offers 14,082 gross square feet over two floors, including 9,882 square feet of restaurant space on the ground level, and sits on a 4.76-acre lot with 200 surface parking spaces, signalized access, and 512 feet of frontage on 49th Street N. With Commercial General zoning, it can keep operating as a restaurant or be redeveloped or subdivided. The property was bought in 2003 for $1.4 million by William Church and acquired in 2010 for $1.71 million by JDK Management. The roundup also noted a $1.28 million listing for a 1928 Spanish/Mediterranean home in St. Petersburg and Granada Plaza’s sale to acquire Benderson Development for $17.5 million, completed June 17.
