Power outage affects part of SF's Market Street after equipment damage
A power outage affected part of San Francisco’s Market Street after equipment damage, leaving about 90 Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) customers without electricity in the Castro District. The outage began Friday on a segment of Market Street, and as of Saturday it was still ongoing for the affected customers, according to the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management. The agency said traffic signals could be inoperable in the outage area, covering much of the 2200 block of Market Street, sections between Noe and Sanchez streets, and the stretch from 15th to 16th streets. PG&E crews found damaged equipment while responding and were working to restore power by Saturday evening, per the company’s outage map. Emergency officials advised drivers to treat inoperable signals as four-way stops and exercise caution.
