The American Film Market (AFM) opened its inaugural New Global Screen Economy Summit, a new five-day addition running Nov. 10–15 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The summit will focus on a proposed federal production tax incentive and expand coverage of the creator economy, new sources of IP and how the studio system is evolving. AFM said it also unveiled an expanded speaker lineup across 45+ sessions, with representatives from major industry organizations including UTA, CAA, the MPA, Artists Equity and Lionsgate. The kickoff session on Nov. 10, “The New Federal Production Incentive: A Turning Point for U.S. Production,” features Steven Paul, Scott Karol and Josh Rogin. AFM House adds four days of talks, presentations and live demos of emerging technologies, including the North American debut of Cinemas Club.
