Prosus pushes ahead with Just Eat turnaround after £3.6bn takeover
Prosus says it is advancing its Just Eat Takeaway turnaround after acquiring the food delivery specialist in a £3.6 billion deal completed late last year. In a Monday update to shareholders, Prosus reported adjusted earnings rose 84% to $1.3 billion (£1.0 billion) over the past year. For the six months since the acquisition, Just Eat Takeaway delivered revenue of $1.9 billion (£1.44 billion) and reported adjusted earnings of $83 million (£62.8 million). Prosus said it is pursuing an “operational turnaround” focused on cultural change, accelerating technology, and sharpening market focus. It reported early signs including order growth of up to 25% through a pilot program in selected cities. The group also pointed to revenue growth of 57% across its portfolio and highlighted AI investment through its OpenClaw agent, which has raised data privacy concerns in Europe. CFO Nico Marais and CEO Fabricio Bloisi framed the plan around capital deployment into iFood and Just Eat Takeaway, plus a buyback program and Prosus Plus expansion.
