Salon collapses into liquidation - family business since 2018

A salon trading as The Hair Movement has collapsed into liquidation in a case tied to a family business that has operated since 2018. The company is based at Radnor House, Greenwood Close, Cardiff Gate Business Park, and traded under brothers Jonathan, Marc and Benjamin Shipman, though the business itself traces back to 1988. The firm described its operations online as the culmination of nearly a century of family hairdressing expertise, referencing a 1929 start in Wales by their grandfather Jack Shipman. It also ran a co-working salon model, offering management and booking services for independent self-employed stylists working under the brand. Liquidation effects on the Cardiff premises, the independent stylists and The Hair Movement’s professional product range were not yet known. Expedium Limited was appointed for the insolvency, with creditors invited to submit proof ahead of a virtual meeting.
