Super Mario Galaxy Movie' Streaming Shifts To Peacock This Week Following $1 Billion Box Office Run

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the animated sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, is set to move to streaming on demand this week after crossing major box-office milestones. Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, it opened in theaters on April 1 and arrived on premium video on demand digitally on May 19. The story adapts Nintendo’s 2007 Super Mario Galaxy game, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, who rockets into space with help from Mario, Luigi and Yoshi to rescue Rosalina from Bowser Jr. Rated PG, the film earned $190 million domestically in its first five-day opening window from April 1–5, and surpassed $1 billion worldwide on June 7, according to Variety. It finished with $429 million domestic, $582 million international, for $1.011 billion worldwide.
