Tegna, Disney Renew ABC Affiliation Pacts in 13 Markets

Tegna and Disney Entertainment Television have renewed multi-year affiliation agreements for all of Tegna’s ABC stations, in a deal covering 13 markets. The companies said the arrangement will keep Tegna stations aligned with ABC programming that includes major sports such as the NFL, NBA and SEC football, along with entertainment and popular series like “Dancing with the Stars” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” plus local news. Tegna CEO Patrick Paolini highlighted the role of local coverage for communities, while Disney’s Susi D’Ambra-Coplan emphasized the goal of pairing trusted local journalism with national entertainment and sports.
