The ghost Anglesey housing estate that lies almost empty

Parc Delfryn on Anglesey, near Brynteg and Benllech, remains without selling after two years on the market. The 16 homes are offered 250,000 pounds after reductions, and only two have sold. A planning condition from 2007 restricts the three-bedroom homes to holiday properties, a rule the developer attributes to the lack of demand.

A Phase 1 scheme of 20 holiday homes under a separate permission was completed in Easter 2022 and sold quickly, before Welsh government measures to deter holiday and second homes. Now Collette Cartwright seeks to convert Parc Delfryn to residential use, potentially with island-connected sale conditions, while local planners and PlanD weigh options.
