The Joint Committee Of The ESAs Publish Their 2027 Priorities
On 13 October 2026, the Joint Committee (JC) of the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) published its 2027 Annual Work Programme. The EBA, EIOPA and ESMA said they will continue coordinating work on digital operational resilience, consumer protection, sustainable finance, cross-sectoral risks, securitisation, financial conglomerates and innovation. The JC programme is designed to fit the EU agenda on simplification and reducing burden, with more specificity on planned supervisory activities rather than new firm-level obligations. Under DORA, oversight of critical technology providers continues, including explicitly scheduled follow-ups for recommendations issued in 2026. Innovation efforts will focus on artificial intelligence and tokenisation, while some major reforms depend on future legislation.
