Two men arrested after breaking and entering, fire at Monroe Twp. weed shop
Two men were arrested after a break-in and fire at a Monroe Township marijuana business, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The incident at Dacut Cannabis Company, located on LaPlaisance Road, was reported early Sunday, July 12, shortly after 2 a.m., after a monitored alarm activation. Deputy Brady Cicero arrived and found a broken window and a fire inside the building. Authorities said two suspects allegedly forced entry, poured an accelerant, ignited it, and then fled. A perimeter was set as additional units searched, and the two suspects—a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old man—were located in a nearby tree line with a police dog. They were taken into custody without incident and lodged in the county jail. The Monroe Charter Township Fire Department extinguished the fire, with assistance from Monroe City Police Department.
