A van driver was banned from driving for 20 months after being caught more than twice over the drink-drive limit. Timothy Clingan, 45, was driving a white Peugeot Partner on Stocks Lane, Newland, on June 23 when police tests recorded 74 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, compared with a legal limit of 35 microgrammes. Clingan admitted the offence and was sentenced on Friday, July 10, at Worcester Magistrates Court. The court disqualified him for 20 months, with the disqualification potentially reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a reduction course by August 21, 2027. He was also fined £300, ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, and received a £120 surcharge.
