Venezuela's Oil Comeback Puts These 4 Energy Stocks in Focus
Venezuela’s oil resurgence is drawing fresh attention from international energy firms, fueled by new agreements and continuing supply uncertainty in global markets. On Thursday, crude stayed above $90 a barrel as investors weighed improving Middle East supply signals against ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations. The Strait of Hormuz risk and OPEC+’s choice to hold November output quotas could further elevate Venezuela’s role given its large hydrocarbon base. Stocks tied to Venezuela have jumped over the past year, led by Eni’s shares up 55.4%, followed by TotalEnergies (+43.3%), Halliburton (+29.3%) and Chevron (+31.5%). The investment angle centers on capital buildout, production growth, heavy-oil development and demand for oilfield services. Eni’s Junín-5 deal includes a 25-year contract signed Sept. 2, 2026, with investment of about $1.5 billion annually and current production near 12,000 bpd.
