Wall Street is mixed as more drops for AI stocks offset some strong profit reports
xCruzo Brief
Stocks wobbled again on Tuesday as fresh declines in AI-linked names offset some strong earnings elsewhere. The S&P 500 slipped 0.1% after giving back part of Monday’s gain, while the Nasdaq fell 0.6% and the Dow rose 0.2% (about 120 points) by 9:35 a.m. ET. Investors have grown more cautious as high interest rates raise concerns about the financing needed to buy AI chips. That stress spilled into Asia, where South Korean AI company Elice plunged 32% on its Seoul debut. In New York, CoreWeave fell 4.3%. Outside AI, Equifax climbed 7.2% and Halliburton added 1.2%. Salesforce agreed to buy Braze for $47.50 per share; Braze surged 51.2%, while GE Aerospace and GM slid.
