Week Ahead for FX, Bonds: U.S. PMI Data, Various Central Bank Decisions in Focus

The week starting Sept. 21 is set to test FX and bond markets with a packed calendar. In the U.S., provisional purchasing managers’ surveys for September are due Wednesday, offering fresh read-through on activity after the Federal Reserve’s Wednesday interest-rate hike. Investors will also weigh expectations for further tightening, alongside weekly jobless claims, August new home sales, and durable goods orders on Thursday, plus the University of Michigan’s final September consumer sentiment survey on Friday. Treasuries will auction $69 billion in two-year notes Tuesday, $70 billion in five-year notes Wednesday, and $44 billion in seven-year notes Thursday.
