What's changed at Seattle's reopened Westlake Park

Westlake Park in Seattle reopened after a renovation that removed major features to create space for gatherings. The project closed the Fourth Avenue and Pine Street plaza for more than six months. Officials removed the large arch at the north end and a broken fountain, freeing sight lines and expanding open areas. The Seven Hills sculpture at the south end was removed, enabling more cafe tables and landscaping. Upgrades include improved lighting, electrical infrastructure, accessibility enhancements, and changes to the stage area, complemented by bollards to prevent vehicle intrusion. The changes aim to support larger events and keep public spaces accessible for community gatherings.
