Yankees predicted to let Jazz Chisholm Jr. sign with NL West team in offseason

Jazz Chisholm Jr., after falling short of goals with the New York Yankees and sitting on the bench for Game 3 of the ALDS against the Tampa Bay Rays, is now a free agent. The Yankees could extend a qualifying offer—one year that would return him to the market after the 2027 season—but he may be seeking a more lucrative contract elsewhere. If he can’t agree with New York, Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer lists the San Diego Padres among the top five landing spots. Rymer cited the Padres’ need for more left-handed power and better second-base offense, noting Jake Cronenworth’s 2026 struggles.
