Ben Simmons back to Philly? Star hints at NBA return to Sixers or Heat
Ben Simmons hinted at an NBA return with Philadelphia or Miami as possible destinations, according to an interview with Men’s Health. The former 76er, who did not play last season after appearing in only 18 games in 2024-2025, said he is planning to get back into basketball shape through workouts in Miami. His plan includes two-and-a-half to three hours of lifting and body work, plus hour-and-a-half court sessions with a day or two off each week, targeting full strength by his 30th birthday on July 20. Simmons did not name a specific team, but suggested “Maybe I’ll go back to Philly” and said Miami would be “nice” due to liking the Heat organization and coach Erik Spoelstra. He also referenced his 2021 playoff missed dunk versus the Atlanta Hawks. Outside basketball, Simmons has focused on professional fishing, including a Blue Marlin Open win in May with his South Florida Sails team.
