Ben Simmons Documentary Reveals Reality Of His Career Injuries
Ben Simmons will have to wait another year to return to the NBA after tearing his right Achilles tendon during a practice live drill on Sunday, Oct. 18. The 30-year-old Australian revealed details of his long injury history in the “Being Ben” documentary, which premiered hours after the setback. Simmons said he spent the past year away from basketball recovering, after playing through multiple injuries including a broken foot and several back surgeries. He had recently built momentum through training, practicing “with zero restrictions” at an Australian national team minicamp in Melbourne in early August 2026 and then working out privately in Miami with Sacramento Kings GM Scott Perry. The Kings later signed him to a one-year, $3.5 million deal in September 2026.
