Ben Simmons returns to NBA by agreeing to sign with Sacramento Kings

Ben Simmons has agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Sacramento Kings, marking his return to the NBA after sitting out last season while recovering from long-running back issues. The 30-year-old, a three-time All-Star and the 2016 No. 1 overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers, has missed significant time across his career, with 383 regular-season games played in 10 years. Sacramento is expected to use Simmons as depth at point guard behind rookie Darius Acuff Jr. Simmons last appeared in April 2025 with the LA Clippers. His brief unofficial return came in mid-August with Australia’s men’s national team minicamp.
