Bill Belichick again is among five coaching candidates for the Pro Football Hall of Fame | Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
Bill Belichick is again one of five coaching candidates for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, joining Tom Coughlin, Mike Holmgren, Dan Reeves and Mike Shanahan for possible election to the Class of 2027. The Hall announced the list Thursday in Canton, Ohio, after its coaching subcommittee narrowed an original group of 14 nominees. The subcommittee will choose one candidate for the selection committee to consider in early 2027. Belichick reached the same stage last year but was not elected in his first year of eligibility, a decision that drew heavy criticism. Belichick won six Super Bowls with New England and was also fined $500,000 in the 2007 “Spygate” scandal. The Hall also advanced five contributors—Ralph Hay, Robert Kraft, Virginia McCaskey, Doug Williams and John Wooten.
