Boston Celtics Have 'Real Shot' at Landing Giannis as New Details Emerge
Boston Celtics have a “real shot” at landing Giannis Antetokounmpo, as fresh trade details suggest Boston’s path is clearer than initially expected. On Monday, NBA insider Marc Stein reported that a league source told him the Celtics emerged from the weekend “with a real shot” to beat the Milwaukee Bucks in the race for the two-time MVP. The shift comes as Draft Day nears, adding urgency to months-long speculation. Stein previously said the Celtics and Miami Heat had led the most advanced talks with Milwaukee. Boston’s optimism ties to the Bucks possibly viewing Jaylen Brown as a key fit rather than defaulting to a full rebuild. HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported Milwaukee is considering keeping Brown if they acquire him. Stein also indicated a complex third-team structure may no longer be necessary.
