Braxton Jones, Montez Sweat exit Bears' most physical practice of training camp
The Chicago Bears lost two starters to injuries during Thursday’s longest and most physical practice of training camp at Lake Forest, Illinois. Left tackle Braxton Jones, a consistent option early in the race for the Week 1 job, was visibly frustrated after an apparent injury during one-on-one drills; third-year pro Kiran Amegadjie took the starting reps. Jones, coming off his first fully healthy offseason since his 2024 ankle injury ended his season, is still expected to be evaluated, with coach Ben Johnson targeting clarity by mid-next week. Defensive end Montez Sweat also exited slowly and required stretching. Reserve defensive backs Dallis Flowers (right knee) and Gervarrius Owens (carted off) suffered more serious issues, while nickel corner Kyler Gordon remained sidelined with no update.
