Byron Young overcoming injury and building on best season to date

Byron Young enters the 2026 season energized after a breakthrough year that earned him his first Pro Bowl and a spot in the NFL Top 100. The Los Angeles Rams outside linebacker posted career highs with 12 sacks and 82 tackles in the regular season and added eight tackles in the postseason. In January, a lingering knee injury left him questionable for the NFC Championship Game, though he played. During Rams Training Camp presented by CommunityAmerica Credit Union, Young practiced on Day 1, then took Day 2 off to avoid overloading the same knee. Head coach Sean McVay said Young’s modified approach mirrors how the team manages quarterback Matthew Stafford’s workload. Young is also watching Myles Garrett closely as he settles into the Rams’ updated defensive front.
