CAF to decide Unam's Confederation Cup fate
CAF to decide Unam's Confederation Cup fate centers on Namibia’s Unam FC waiting for a ruling from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after the Namibia Football Association (NFA) received its formal request. Following CAF’s move to extend the club licensing deadline from 30 June to 25 July, Unam FC is seeking one of Namibia’s Confederation Cup places after winning the NFA Cup. Mabos Vries, the NFA general secretary, confirmed to Desert FM that the request was received from Unam. Namibia’s two slots had been provisionally allocated before the NFA Cup ended, with African Stars already confirmed as league champions and nominated within CAF’s original timelines. To avoid losing the second slot, the NFA nominated the league runners-up, since the NFA Cup final concluded on 30 June.
