'cold foot' and NFL's current kickoff rules test the Titans' special teams

The Tennessee Titans may have a highly regarded special teams unit, but they’re struggling most with kickoffs. Coach Robert Saleh said the team “needs to get better,” pointing to the need to force returns and cover kicks more effectively. Through the season, the Titans rank last in the NFL with 66.7% touchbacks, versus a league average of 16.8% and the next-worst team, the Carolina Panthers, at 38.5%. Opponents start from the Titans’ 37-yard line on average—also the worst mark in the league. The Titans will try to improve Sunday at the New York Giants.
